The Masters thesis considers the current state of the PE/VC industry in Russia and answers the question if the global PE models have a future in this country. The work consists of 4 core chapters putting together the modern theory of Private Equity, already quite fully explored and described from different sides by modern professors and practitioners with the todays reality in Russia. By analyzing a large set of statistical data and conducting interviews with people dealing with PE and VC investments in their work we define Russias place on the global private equity arena and provide an objective assessment of the factors challenging the development of the PE market in this country.
